Graham Vanhegan, Chief Legal Officer & Secretary

Graham is Chief Legal Officer and Company Secretary of the FSE 100 engineering company, The Weir Group plc. In this role, he also has responsibility for the Group’s global M&A activities. Prior to joining Weir, Graham had a 24-year career with international exploration and production company ConocoPhillips, where he held a number of senior legal and business positions for the company in UK, Asia and North America. Following completion of formal training as a solicitor with the Scottish Development Agency in Glasgow, Graham’s early legal career included working for two Lex Mundi firms, one of which, Butzel Long in Detroit, remains a member to this day.
A graduate of the University of Glasgow, Graham is a solicitor qualified to practice in both Scotland and England and is an attorney-at-law before the State Bar of New York, USA. He is also a dual US / UK citizen and while he currently works out of Scotland, his main home is in Washington State, US.
