Katarina Nilsson, General Counsel

Katarina Nilsson is General Counsel of Northvolt AB, a Swedish battery developer and manufacturer based in Stockholm, Sweden. She was previously General Counsel of SCA, Northern Europe’s largest private forest owner with 2.6 million hectares of forest land.
Ms. Nilsson has over 15 years of professional experience from Swedish law firm, Advokatfirman Vinge and as in-house legal counsel. Prior to her role at SCA, Ms. Nilsson was part of the corporate management teams at Norsk Hydro ASA (listed multinational metal and mining enterprise with 35,000 employees) and Sapa AS (multinational aluminum extruder with 25,000 employees).
Ms. Nilsson’s areas of legal expertise include: General Corporate; Mergers and Acquisitions; IPR and Employment Law and industry sector expertise in metals/mining, forestry and pharmaceuticals.
In 2001, Ms. Nilsson obtained her law degree from Lund University in Sweden. She spent her undergraduate years at University of London where she graduated with honors in Chinese and Geography. Ms. Nilsson is fluent in Swedish, English and Mandarin.
